Driving Test Fees & Terms

1. Driving Test Car Hire Fee

From 1 April 2026, the fee to use the driving school vehicle for your practical driving test is £150.

This fee covers a maximum of 2 hours in total, which includes:

• Collection from the student’s home 1 hour before the driving test (warm-up);
• Use of the vehicle for the driving test itself.

* Any additional time required beyond the 2 hours may be charged separately at the standard lesson rate.

2. Lesson Payment Terms

Bank Transfer Payments: From 1 April 2026, students paying by bank transfer must ensure the lesson fee is received in our bank account at least 24 hours before the scheduled lesson time. Lessons may not go ahead if payment has not been received in advance.

Cash Payments: Students paying by cash may make their payment at the beginning of the lesson on the scheduled day.

3. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

Lessons: A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule a standard lesson. Cancellation with less than 48 hours' notice will result in the full lesson fee being charged.

Driving Tests: For the Driving Test Car Hire booking (£150):

• 5+ business days' notice: Full refund or free transfer.
• 2–4 business days' notice: £50 cancellation fee applies.
• Less than 48 hours or no-show: No refund. Full £150 fee is forfeited.

4. Lesson Car Usage & Liability

• The vehicle is for driving tuition and DVSA tests only;
• Students must report any pre-existing damage before departure;
• The student is liable for damage caused by their own negligence or refusal to follow instructor instructions.
• The school is not liable for DVSA-initiated test cancellations.

5. Right to Amend Terms and Conditions

Swords Driving School reserves the right to modify, update, or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Students will be informed of any changes. By continuing to book or attend lessons after changes have been made, students agree to the revised Terms and Conditions.

6. Data & Privacy

Your name, signature, and submission details are stored securely and used solely for maintaining a legal record of agreement. You may request deletion at any time by emailing noreply@swordsdriving.com.
